Application Workflow Guidelines
Proper surface preparation and application steps are critical to ensuring the longevity of your PolarGuard roof coating system.

Surface Preparation
The roof surface must be completely clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove all loose debris, dust, gravel, and chalk. Power-wash the entire roof using a pressure washer (min. 2000 psi) and a roof cleaner solution if grease or mold is present. Let dry completely (min. 24 hours).

Seam & Detail Reinforcement
Use PolarGuard 510 Reinforced Acrylic Mastic to detail all roof seams, fasteners, flashings, drains, and pipe penetrations. Apply a generous layer of mastic, embed polyester reinforcing fabric if necessary, and seal over it with a top coat of mastic to lock in and waterproof all joints.

Base Coat Application
Apply the base coat of your selected coating (PolarGuard 847 or 1252) at a rate of 0.75 to 1.0 gallon per 100 sq ft. Use an industrial airless sprayer (minimum 1 gpm capacity) or a heavy-nap roller. Apply evenly and allow to cure for 12 to 24 hours depending on temperature and humidity.

Top Coat Application
Apply the top coat of coating (PolarGuard 1555 for premium durability or 1252 for multi-substrate flexibility) at a rate of 0.75 to 1.0 gallon per 100 sq ft. Apply perpendicular to the direction of the base coat (cross-hatch pattern) to ensure uniform film thickness and total coverage. Allow to cure completely.
